1. How do I cancel an active alarm?

To cancel an alarm and avoid false alarm assessments of $100 per occurrence, please contact the Paradise Valley Police Department at (480) 948-7410 immediately upon accidental activation, day or night.

2. What is a "false alarm"?

A false alarm is defined by the Town Code as an activation of an alarm system that results in a public safety personnel dispatch to premises where the alarm system is activated, with no evidence at the premises of a crime or emergency, as emergency is determined by public safety personnel. An activation resulting in a criminal report will not be counted as a false alarm.

3. Do I have to register my home alarm system?

§4-3-18 of the Town Code requires all alarm systems operating within the Town limits be permitted, and renewed annually. Applications for Alarm User permits will be mailed to residents with known alarm systems no later than Mar 1st, 2010.

4. How do I register my alarm system?

To register your alarm system, complete the Alarm User Permit application you received from your alarm installer or retrieved when you visit the Town Hall Complex. Submit the application with a check or money order to:

3. Is outdoor lighting allowed on hillside lots?

• Check and eliminate places that accumulate water


• Keep fountains operating or drain the water


• Repair leaky pipes and outside faucets


• Empty water from outdoor containers, old tires, tarps, and unused swimming pools


• Turn outdoor buckets and containers upside down to prevent water form accumulating


• Install yellow light bulbs in outdoor lamps - mosquitoes are not attracted to yellow light


• Limit outdoor activity after sunset - mosquitoes are most active at night


• Repair window screens - these are effective barriers against mosquitoes entering the home


• Keep doors closed


• Use insecticides sparingly and carefully - read label instructions carefully

2. Can I split my property?

Minimum lot size and width is determined by the property's zoning. Depending on the number of lots you want to create, you may be required to apply for a Lot Split or Subdivision Plat. Contact the Planning staff at (480) 348-3693 for more information on this subject.

3. What if I am unable to meet a development standard like height or setback?

Property owners may apply for a variance from a certain development standard from the Board of Adjustment. Variances are granted based on property hardships such as topography, unusual lot size or configuration, or location. The Police Department offers fingerprinting services to Town residents only. This service is provided on Wednesdays between 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm. A valid ID is required, and the cost is $5 per card.

Official fingerprint cards must be provided.

3. Where can I get Police records and reports?

Fill out a Public Records Request form. Police Reports are $10 each (exact change - cash, check, or money order), and may be requested by phone (480 948-7418) or mail (6433 E Lincoln Dr Paradise Valley, AZ 85253).

No. The Town Attorney’s Office does not represent individuals in private legal matters nor do they give legal advice to residents. Attorneys in the Office represent the Town’s elected officials and staff, Town departments, and the Town’s independent boards and commissions. Please seek legal advice from a private attorney.

2. Does the Town enforce CC&Rs (covenants, conditions, and restrictions)?

No. CC&Rs are contracts between private third parties. The Town is not a party to the CC&Rs and has no enforcement authority.

3. Who do I contact about a photo radar ticket I received?

The Town Attorney's Office does not handle civil traffic offenses. Please contact the Paradise Valley Municipal Court at (480) 948-7620 for information.

1. How do I contact the Mayor and Council?

The Town Council meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month except in November and December when they are held on the first and third Thursdays. Meeting agendas and the corresponding reports are posted on the website approximately one week before the meeting. 3. How do I get involved in Town Committees?

Utility Billing

1. Can I pay my utility bill online or over the phone with a credit card?

No. The Town does not accept credit card payments at this time. However, you may pay using online bill pay through your banking institution or sign up for ACH direct debit.

2. Can I make advance payments?

Yes. Advance payments will be applied to future bills.

3. How is my sewer bill calculated?

Every year the sewer user charge is recalculated based on 90% of the average monthly indoor and outdoor water consumption for the preceding consecutive months of December, January, February, and March (excluding the month of greatest consumption). Rates are set by the Town Council and may be found in the Master Fee Schedule.
